Ceremonial Singing
When music enters a ceremonial space everything changes - hearts connect, tears flow, something of the timeless cycle of life and love is remembered. Those who would ordinarily feel shy to sing in public sometimes find themselves letting go and opening their voices, when they know it is a gift for a loved one.
After leading 300 people at her father's memorial after his death in 2013, Susie realised how precious, delicate and heart felt these kinds of ceremonial celebrations are, and how special it is when friends and family raise their voices in song together in honour of a loved one. She was then invited to play the songs she had written for Nick at another friends funeral, and again finding herself inviting friends and family to join their voices in song, connecting the congregation.

Susie is now singing and leading songs at weddings, baby naming ceremonies and funerals across the country, as the wide-spread recognition of how powerful it is to sing together on special occasions grows.

Susie also offers her deeply healing and prayerful music at all-night meditation retreats. This work has inspired a whole new flavour of her music as a powerful prayer, allowing the spirit of nature to really sing through her. She is often invited to lead everybody singing in harmony together before the deep healing meditation begins, as a way to bond and connect as a group.
