This is such a gorgeous translation of the Gayatri Mantra by a dear dear friend and Devonshire neighbour Ollie Frame. Ollie’s son Sylvan is my godson. Ollie and Annie and their three children live at Bowden House where my sister and her husband currently live, where I lived for many years, where my mum and dad built their house and where in December 2013, dad took his last breath. This was the song that dad requested as the first song after that breath. Christmas eve morning, bleary eyed from sleep and tears, I sang this song to his body, feeling his spirit filling the small bedroom.
